On Wednesday, U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02) called for the creation of a national memorial garden to display statues of U.S. presidents that have been removed from state and local government buildings.

In remarks on the House floor, Rep. Burchett said a national memorial garden would ensure these statues are respectfully preserved for public viewing.

"Instead of taking up space in some storage or waste facility, statues of U.S. presidents that get removed from government buildings should go to a national memorial garden. That way they can still be viewed by people who want to see them and learn about those who led our country in the past," Rep. Burchettsaid on the House floor. "The far left can pretend all it wants these figures did not exist. But you cannot cancel history."

Recently, Pastor Clarence Sexton of Temple Baptist Church shared with Rep. Burchett that he is willing to start a national memorial garden for presidential statues at Crown College in Powell, Tennessee, where he serves as president.
