Today, U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02) released the following statement addressing his vote against the $40 billion spending bill for Ukraine:
“I support the Ukrainian people in their fight for freedom against Russia, but no one has a strategic plan outlining how the $40 billion for Ukraine should be used. The United States cannot continue to blindly send billions of dollars overseas while our own economy gets worse every day. Europe needs to step up and take the lead in assisting Ukraine since this gruesome war is right on their doorstep.”
