WASHINGTON - Today, Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) sent a letter to newly confirmed Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg inviting him to tour the Beck Road Improvement Corridor in Wixom, Michigan and discuss critical infrastructure needs across Michigan’s 11th District.
“Wide scale federal investments in America’s infrastructure are long overdue,” said Rep. Haley Stevens. “It is exciting to have Secretary Buttigieg confirmed as the new Secretary of Transportation and on behalf of Michigan’s 11th district, I am ready to get to work with him to address our communities’ roadway improvement needs, among other infrastructure imperatives. For instance, the Beck Road Corridor is a prime example of a critical infrastructure project that is supported by two counties, and numerous business and municipal leaders. As thousands of residents and workers rely on Beck Road every day, it is long past time to get this project started. My sleeves are rolled up alongside our local leaders ready to make this happen!”
During the Trump Administration, Representative Stevens reached out to Secretary Chao and invited her to tour Beck Road. However, Secretary Chao never responded.
