This morning, Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11) kicked off her Women-Owned Wednesday initiative with a visit to Hatteras Inc in Plymouth, Michigan. This initiative seeks to highlight women-owned businesses in Michigan’s 11th District and provide a space for women business owners to speak directly to the Congresswoman about their needs and concerns.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to launch my Women-Owned Wednesday initiative,” said Congresswoman Stevens. “Michigan has an incredibly diverse and talented workforce, and it is time we uplift the women-owned businesses that help power our regional economy. Women face unique challenges in our workforce, including the difficulty of balancing work and family. In Congress, I’m committed to empowering working women by supporting legislation that guarantees paid family leave, ensures equal pay for equal work, and invests in child care resources. I look forward to speaking with female business owners in Michigan’s 11th Congressional district about our evolving workforce and what we can do to inspire and empower the next generation of women leaders.”
Hatteras Inc in Plymouth is a manufacturing company that specializes in printing. They were recently contracted to make 15,000 face masks for the Biden-Harris Inauguration in partnership with Ford.
