The Smiley for Washington Senate campaign today announced that it has received the endorsement of former Washington State Senator, 2004 gubernatorial, and 2010 U.S. Senate candidate Dino Rossi.
Senator Rossi said: “I am proud to endorse Tiffany Smiley for U.S. Senate. Washington small businesses are being crushed by skyrocketing inflation, and Patty Murray’s reckless spending is stoking this fire each day. As a small business owner herself, I know Tiffany will work hard to improve Washington’s business climate by controlling the reckless spending driving inflation, reducing the deficit and cutting taxes. If our economy is to fully recover we need new leadership and I know Tiffany Smiley is the right woman for the job!”
Tiffany Smiley, on receiving this endorsement, said: “I am very grateful for the support of Senator Rossi. Throughout his many years in Washington State politics he has been a steady voice, advocating for our small businesses. Dino Rossi is a third generation Washingtonian, and grew up in Snohomish County with his six siblings. He worked his way through Seattle University, graduated with a business management degree and went on to a successful career in commercial real estate. He won his seat in the Washington State Senate in 1996. As a State Senator, Dino served as the Chairman of the Senate Ways and Means Committee and crafted a bipartisan balanced budget that erased a massive deficit without raising taxes. Service to his community has always been an important part of Dino’s life. He was a longtime member and past Chair of the Board of Special Olympics Washington, and during his tenure as Chair Seattle was awarded the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games. Additionally, he serves on the Dean’s Executive Advisory Board for Seattle University’s Albers School of Business. Dino and his wife, Terry, have been married for over 30 years and have four children.
