Carol Miller for Congress: Announces Over $600,000 for Marshall University Talent Search Program

West Virginia

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) today announced two grants totaling $629,088 from the U.S. Department of Education for the Talent Search Program at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia.

The Talent Search Program identifies and assists individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to and complete their post-secondary education.

"This funding is a welcome investment in our community and our future," said Congresswoman Miller. "We must ensure West Virginia's children and young adults have the opportunity to receive an education, regardless of their background or circumstance. These grants will help provide our next generation of leaders with the solid foundation needed for a promising career."
