BARDSTOWN, KY – Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) announced winners of the 2022 Congressional Art Competition at the art competition reception he hosted in Bardstown on Monday with students, who participated in the competition, along with their families and educators.
Guthrie and other Members of the U.S. House of Representatives host an annual congressional art contest each spring for high school students in their respective districts. The overall, county, and honorable mention winners of Kentucky’s Second District Congressional Art Competition are chosen by an independent panel of local art professionals. The “Facebook Favorite” winner is chosen by the public.
There were 27 pieces of artwork for this year’s art contest. Isabel Harris of Bardstown High School won second place overall with “Thank you Sweetheart,” Emily Scott of Hart County High School won third place overall with “Lotus Pond,” and Jesse McClain of Washington County High School won the “Facebook Favorite” contest with “Ale-8-One.” These three artworks will be displayed in Guthrie’s Bowling Green congressional office.
