Today, Rep. French Hill (AR-02) and Rep. Mark Takano (CA-41) announced their reappointment to the Japan-United States Friendship Commission, an independent government agency established by Congress in 1975 to promote educational, intellectual advancements, and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
“I am honored to continue my service on this commission, which strengthens the critical partnership between Japan and the United States,” said Rep Hill. “Japan is the fourth largest recipient of Arkansas exports, and I appreciate the opportunity to support employers in central Arkansas like Tokusen USA, headquartered in my district, which benefits our local economy and provides jobs for many Arkansans. Looking forward to joining Representative Takano again on the Japan-United States Friendship Commission and supporting the many ways that we can strengthen our relationship with the nation of Japan.”
