Today, after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2022, by a bipartisan vote of 316-113, Rep. French Hill (AR-02) released the following statement:

"I take very seriously my duty to serve and support those who defend our nation, which is why I am pleased to support this year's defense bill prioritizing the safety of all Americans and our servicemembers and their families, especially at the Little Rock Air Force Base in central Arkansas. House Republicans were successful in increasing the NDAA funding to ensure a 2.7% pay increase for all servicemembers, holding the administration accountable for the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, increased funding needed to upgrade and expand our military equipment, and countering our adversaries such as Iran, Russia, and China.

"I was also pleased that two provisions I authored were included in this year's NDAA, including the SAVE Act, which will diversify America's medical supply chain and make us less dependent on foreign manufacturers, and a provision to disrupt and dismantle the Assad regime's illicit narcotic production and trafficking in Syria."
