Rep. French Hill (AR-02) today issued the following statement after the announcement that First Deputy Managing Director Geoffrey Okamoto would be leaving the International Monetary Fund (IMF) early next year.

“I was very disappointed to learn today that Geoffrey Okamoto will be leaving the IMF in the key role of First Deputy Managing Director. His valued Senate and House staff experience along with his experience as a senior leader in international affairs at Treasury provided the IMF with a wide-ranging and critical perspective. Further, this important operational position is key to advocating for transparency, designing internal reforms, and ensuring the Fund promotes policies that work to ensure long term growth in member nations.”
