Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Fiscal Year 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), including key provisions proposed by Rep. Gallego.
Rep. Ruben Gallego issued the following statement:
“I am proud to join my colleagues in passing the NDAA with bipartisan support. This bill includes several of my provisions, including funding supporting the security of our Baltic allies and language pushing the Department of Defense to properly address civilian casualties. It also takes care of our troops by approving a 4.6% pay raise and improving benefits and health care access for military families. At a time when we are confronting numerous emerging threats, including a rogue Russia waging a war of conquest in Ukraine, this legislation has never been more important. I’m glad to see this critical package get one step closer to the president’s signature.”
Rep. Ruben Gallego is a Marine Corps combat veteran who served in Iraq. He serves on the House Armed Services Committee, the House Natural Resources Committee, and the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.
