Outagamie County Executive and pro-labor populist U.S. Senate candidate Tom Nelson is applauding Attorney General Josh Kaul for his opinion released today stating the law allows the UW Hospital system to bargain with any organization the nurses choose. The UW nurses have been battling the UW hospital system to recognize their union and fight for better working conditions.
Nelson said the following upon Attorney General Kaul’s opinion being released:
“I’m thrilled to see the opinion of the Attorney General’s office that our healthcare heros are supported by the law in their efforts to collectively bargain. UW Hospital now needs to stop dragging its feet and recognize the nurses union. These nurses have risked their lives to care for Wisconsin families during the COVID crisis and it’s unconscionable that the hospital continues to refuse to meet with them in their fight for better wages and working conditions.”
