RALEIGH: The North Carolina State AFL-CIO endorsed Cheri Beasley for the U.S. Senate because she will fight “for an economy that works for all North Carolinians.” The North Carolina State AFL-CIO is the latest organization to support Cheri’s campaign, joining hundreds of leaders across the state and key organizations.
“Cheri Beasley is the leader we need in Washington who will fight for workers and for an economy that works for all North Carolinians,” said MaryBe McMillan, President of the North Carolina State AFL-CIO. “With Cheri in the U.S. Senate, North Carolinians will have a tireless advocate for good-paying jobs and workers’ rights, and the NC State AFL-CIO is proud to endorse her in this election.”
“As a proud former union member who comes from a union family, I am honored to earn the endorsement of the North Carolina State AFL-CIO,” said Cheri Beasley. “North Carolinians deserve a Senator who believes in the dignity of work and will protect workers, fight for living wages, and grow good-paying jobs. That’s exactly what I’ll fight for in the U.S. Senate.”
The North Carolina State AFL-CIO is the largest association of unions of working people in North Carolina, representing over a hundred thousand members. Cheri learned the importance of unions from a young age, with her mother and grandfathers both joining unions, and Cheri was a member of the Service Employees International Union.
The North Carolina State AFL-CIO joins over 200 leaders, including over 100 faith leaders, as well as major organizations including EMILY’s List, End Citizens United // Let America Vote, the Congressional Black Caucus PAC, Higher Heights for America PAC, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, and The Collective PAC. Cheri has outraised every candidate for U.S. Senate in North Carolina since entering the race.
