RALEIGH: A new poll previewed first in Politico Morning Score shows Cheri Beasley with a decisive 14-point lead in the Democratic primary, a margin that grows to a commanding 48 points when voters learn more about each candidate.

The poll’s findings are consistent with the strong enthusiasm the campaign is seeing for Cheri’s candidacy across the state. CNN recently reported that Democrats “are enthusiastic about the prospect of an African American woman who’s a former statewide elected official driving out rural and minority voters.”

Cheri has outraised every candidate since entering the race, and has earned donations from all 100 counties. She has also received support of over 200 leaders and voters across the state, including former candidate for U.S. Senate Erica Smith. In addition, she has earned the endorsements of key organizations including EMILY’s List, End Citizens United// Let America Vote, the Congressional Black Caucus PAC, Higher Heights for America PAC, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, and The Collective PAC.
