RALEIGH: Today, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate Cheri Beasley joined women in Raleigh for an event hosted by Women for Beasley to celebrate Women’s History Month and discuss issues that disproportionately impact women in our communities – from access to child care, affordable health care, fair wages, and more.

“This Women’s History Month, it’s important to honor the legacy of the trailblazers who paved the way for us to have better lives by standing up for policies that will help women and families succeed,” said Cheri Beasley. “I raised my family here in North Carolina and served as a judge and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and I’ve seen firsthand the challenges many women face as they work to take care of their families and succeed at their jobs – and I know that we can take action on policies, such as making the Child Tax Credit permanent and passing paid family and medical leave, that will support women and families and strengthen our economy.”

“North Carolina deserves a leader in Washington who will be a champion for women, and Cheri Beasley is that person. As a working mother, I need an advocate who will stand up for policies that will lift up women, like ensuring affordable child care options and fighting for paid family leave. Cheri will do all of this and more if elected – and make North Carolina a better place for me and my children,” said Jocelyn Mitnaul Mallette, Raleigh mother.
