Cheri Beasley Files as a Candidate for U.S. Senate

RALEIGH: Today, Cheri Beasley filed as a candidate for the U.S. Senate after coalescing support as Democrats’ presumptive nominee. She was joined by her husband Curt and one of her sons, Matthew.

“I’ve spent my life in service to this state and I’m more committed than ever to fight for the issues North Carolinians care about – to lower costs, ensure people have access to affordable health care, jobs that can support a family, and schools that can prepare our children for whatever future they dream of,” said Cheri Beasley. “I will bring the same values I was raised with – hard work, faith and fairness – to fight for North Carolina in the U.S. Senate.”

Since launching her campaign in April, Beasley has met with voters across the state – from our biggest cities to our smallest towns. She has focused on listening to North Carolinians and their priorities and is committed to fighting to lower costs, expand access to affordable health care, create good-paying jobs, and strengthen our schools.

Cheri Beasley has earned the support of over 200 leaders across the state, including Governor Roy Cooper, State Senator Jeff Jackson, Attorney General Josh Stein, all Democratic members of North Carolina’s congressional delegation, more than 100 faith leaders, and key organizations including NC State AFL-CIO, EMILY’s List, Congressional Black Caucus PAC, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, End Citizens United// Let America Vote, Higher Heights for America PAC, The Collective PAC. Cheri has outraised every candidate for U.S. Senate in North Carolina since entering the race.
