RALEIGH: Today, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate Cheri Beasley met with local business owners in the Outer Banks to discuss the economic impact of climate change on local businesses, and the importance of strengthening coastal economies.
“Today, I heard from local business owners in the Outer Banks about the ways the climate crisis has impacted their businesses, from severe flooding to rising sea levels to beach erosion. It’s clear that addressing the climate crisis is good for business,” said Cheri Beasley. “By taking action on the climate, we can support local businesses, protect our state, and grow good-paying jobs across North Carolina, and that’s what I’ll fight for in the U.S. Senate.”
“Over the past decade, the Outer Banks’ community and economy has been hit hard by climate change. As an owner of three waterfront businesses, I need a leader in Washington who will take climate change seriously and take action to protect our state.
