RALEIGH: New poll results show that Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate Cheri Beasley is in a strong position to take on and win against whichever Republican candidate emerges from the GOP primary.

The poll, conducted between April 28 and May 4, found that Beasley is in a statistical tie with both failed former Governor Pat McCrory and Trump-backed D.C. insider Congressman Ted Budd. These results come as Senate Republicans’ prepare to begin spending millions of dollars to hold this seat, a clear sign of the competitiveness of this race.

“National Republicans have made clear that they view North Carolina as competitive, and with Cheri’s record of service to this state, strong candidacy, and a campaign that continues to build unmatched statewide support, we are well-positioned to win in November no matter who manages to survive the GOP primary,” said Travis Brimm, Campaign Manager for Beasley for North Carolina.
