RALEIGH: Today, the NC Alliance for Retired Americans announced their endorsement of Cheri Beasley for the U.S. Senate. The Alliance for Retired Americans represents nearly 55,000 retirees in North Carolina.
“Cheri Beasley’s positions demonstrate a strong commitment to ensuring that all Americans have the secure retirement they have earned,” said Bill Dworkin, President of the North Carolina Alliance for Retired Americans. “We welcome her leadership on issues such as strengthening and expanding Social Security and Medicare and protecting them from cuts. Our members enthusiastically support her because of her belief in more affordable health care, including lower drug prices, pension security, and quality long-term care.”
“North Carolinians should be able to retire with dignity. I’m grateful for the NC Alliance for Retired Americans’ work to support retired Americans and working families, and I will look forward to fighting alongside them in the Senate to safeguard and strengthen Social Security and Medicare and ensure that seniors receive the care that they need,” said Cheri Beasley.
The NC Alliance for Retired Americans joins a long list of unions, key organizations, and over 200 leaders in endorsing Beasley for U.S. Senate, including Governor Roy Cooper, Attorney General Josh Stein, all Democratic members of North Carolina’s congressional delegation, and more than 100 faith leaders. Beasley has outraised every candidate in the U.S. Senate field since entering the race.
