RALEIGH: Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate Cheri Beasley once again outraised every North Carolina Senate candidate, including Trump-endorsed candidate Congressman Ted Budd and failed former Governor Pat McCrory, in the pre-primary election period. Between April 1 – April 27, Beasley raised more than one million dollars, and 93% of donations were $100 or less. In this period, Beasley more than tripled what Budd and McCrory each raised.

“Once again, North Carolinians have continued outpouring their support for Cheri Beasley because they know she’ll be an independent voice that stands up for North Carolina in Washington,” said Travis Brimm, Campaign Manager for Cheri Beasley for North Carolina. “As the Republican candidates battle it out and struggle to gain support, North Carolinians continue to coalesce around Cheri, which will lead to a victory in November.”

Beasley’s massive haul in the pre-primary fundraising period comes on the heels of the campaign raising $3.6 million, with $5.1 million cash-on-hand in the first fundraising quarter of 2022, more than tripling what Budd and McCrory each raised. Yesterday, Beasley released her third television ad, “Safer,” highlighting Beasley’s record of working to keep North Carolinians safe, including partnering with law enforcement and creating North Carolina’s first human trafficking court.
