RALEIGH: Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate Cheri Beasley’s campaign raised more than one million dollars in the pre-primary election report, which includes April 1- April 27, 2022. This comes on the heels of Beasley’s recent announcement that their campaign raised $3.6 million, with $5.1 million cash-on-hand in the first fundraising quarter of 2022, making Beasley the “most prolific fundraiser” in the North Carolina Senate field.
“We’re grateful to all the North Carolinians that continue to throw their support behind Cheri and are ready to elect a Senator who will put the people first,” said Travis Brimm, Campaign Manager for Cheri Beasley for North Carolina. “As Republicans race each other to the bottom, Cheri continues to gain momentum. And with every dollar raised, we’re building a statewide campaign that will win in November.”
In the pre-primary fundraising period, more than 93 percent of contributions received were $100 or less. Throughout the campaign, Beasley has outraised every single candidate and more than tripled both what Budd and McCrory each raised last quarter.
Beasley has earned support from all 100 counties as well as from key organizations and leaders across the state, including Governor Roy Cooper, all Democratic members of the state’s congressional delegation, Attorney General Josh Stein, and over 100 faith leaders.
