WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. French Hill (AR-02) issued the following statement after voting against House Democrats’ China bill that puts China first while undermining America’s competitive advantage.

“Instead of using our time on the House Floor to reiterate our support for Ukraine, hold Russia accountable, or work on a bipartisan bill to bolster American competitiveness against China, Speaker Pelosi chose to put a bill on the floor that is just another attempt to advance the Democrats’ far-left agenda and cede America’s global leadership to China.

“She blew up bipartisan negotiations to pass a partisan measure that will never get signed into law in its current form and will only delay the House and Senate coming together on a final bill that can be signed into law. This was an opportunity for the U.S. Congress to speak with one voice on the military, education, economic, and health threat that China poses, but once again Speaker Pelosi decided to play political games on the House Floor and waste Americans’ time.”
