First he outraised all the Republicans. Now he’s snagged another major national endorsement.

Independence, MO – Today, the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund endorsed Marine veteran Lucas Kunce in his run for U.S. Senate. This is the LCV Action Fund’s first round of non-incumbent endorsements in the 2022 election cycle for the U.S. Senate. LCV Action Fund is the connected federal political action committee (PAC) of the League of Conservation Voters, which works to elect leaders who fight for a cleaner environment and a safer future on climate. Since the 1990 election cycle, LCVAF has helped elect and re-elect 95 U.S. Senators and 460 members of the U.S. House of Representatives.

“As a veteran and national security professional, Lucas Kunce understands the importance of transitioning to a clean energy economy for the safety and security of our country and our communities,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “He is committed to investing in Missouri to create the next generation of jobs in the clean energy industry, and he will fight to break up corporate monopolies that control our energy and agriculture sectors and contribute to the climate crisis. We could not be more excited to support his campaign for Senate.”

Lucas Kunce is a 13-year Marine veteran, National Security Expert, and Antitrust Advocate running to replace U.S. Senator Roy Blunt’s open seat in 2022. As a U.S. Marine, Lucas did tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, and later represented the United States in arms control negotiations with NATO and Russia. Since then, he’s been fighting the massive corporations and corrupt politicians who strip our communities for parts at the American Economic Liberties Project. Lucas lives in Independence, Missouri, and is a native of Cole County.

“As a 13-year Marine veteran, I was deployed to Iraq once, Afghanistan twice,” said Kunce. “I was later stationed at the Pentagon, where I helped lead arms control negotiations with NATO and Russia. Both of these experiences made it fundamentally clear to me that our addiction to fossil fuels is a threat to our economy, our national security, and our way of life. Politicians have let Big Ag, Big Oil, Defense Contractors, and Wall Street strip our communities and our planet for parts. Communities of color and rural communities have been paying the heaviest price for this political and economic corruption while the elites in power divide us over race, class, and religion. That’s why we have to fundamentally change who has power in our country – to put everyday people in charge of their democracy instead of corrupt politicians and corporate elites. I’m proud to have the League of Conservation Voters join me in this fight.”

This endorsement comes on the heels of Lucas Kunce outraising every Republican not just in the fourth quarter of 2021, but the entire year. Kunce’s impressive numbers, unapologetic populist message and unprecedented grassroots support continue to generate buzz. Both the Cook Political Report and the Washington Post have already taken note of Lucas Kunce’s groundbreaking candidacy.
