WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. French Hill (AR-02) issued the following statement after the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2023 in the U.S. House of Representatives by a bipartisan vote of 329-101:

“The House-passed NDAA includes several provisions that will have a meaningful impact here in central Arkansas including a 4.6 percent pay increase for our brave men and women in uniform and provisions to ensure the C-130 aircraft remains the Air Force’s preeminent platform for tactical airlift. Importantly, the NDAA includes provisions to offset the effects inflation is having on our servicemembers and their families, modernizes our military capabilities and readiness to counter our adversaries in China, Russia, and Iran, and supports our allies in Ukraine and Taiwan.

“I was also pleased to see three of my key priorities included in the NDAA including the SAVE Act, which will reduce our reliance on other countries for medical supplies to keep Americans safe during times of a public health emergency, a provision to freeze Russia and Belarus out of future financing at the International Monetary Fund, and a provision requiring the federal government to develop an interagency strategy to disrupt and dismantle the Assad regime’s illicit production and trafficking of the narcotic Captagon in Syria.”
