Michael is running for reelection to continue fighting to protect the health and freedom of women in Colorado and across the country.

Today, the United States Supreme Court ruled in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization to overturn Roe v. Wade, undoing fifty years of legal precedent and threatening the reproductive rights of women everywhere. In advance of the fight ahead to protect women’s rights, Colorado’s U.S. Senator Michael Bennet affirmed his commitment to fighting for legislation to enshrine the right to choose into law.

“Today’s ruling—the culmination of a decades-long project by far-right activists—reverses fifty years of judicial precedent,” Michael explained. “Thankfully Colorado passed a law to protect a woman’s right to choose, and Colorado voters have repeatedly rejected ballot measures that would gut reproductive rights, but far-right extremists are advancing bills across the country that would make abortion illegal. We need to elect pro-choice Democratic majorities in the House and Senate to protect abortion rights at the federal level.”

When it comes to Colorado’s general election in November, whoever gets through to the general in the Republican primary is too far-right for Colorado and out of touch with the issues that matter in this state. Michael is running on a record of delivering for hardworking Coloradans and safeguarding their rights. Today’s ruling only underscores the importance of expanding a congressional Democratic majority this November.
