Americans Squeezed by Record Breaking Inflation Report

Denver, CO — Republican U.S. Senate nominee Joe O’Dea issued the following statement on the June Consumer Price Index report:

“The American people don’t need a report to know inflation is crushing us and it’s affecting everything,” said Joe O’Dea. “From gas prices, to food prices, to rent prices, working families are struggling to make ends meet as inflation breaks a four-decade high. Business leaders all over our state are losing confidence in our economic future. Bennet and Biden’s reckless spending has set our country backwards, and it’s time to rein it in, not add to it. We must restore common sense to bring down prices for working Americans all over this country.”

U.S. inflation reached 9.1% in June, the highest in nearly 41 years, breaking expectations. Core inflation, which excludes food and energy prices, also came in worse than expected. Small businesses have never been more pessimistic about the future of the economy. Coloradans are currently paying $4.84 for gas alone, still higher than the national average of $4.63.
