Heather Mizeur Wins Democratic Nomination for Congressional District 1

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Heather Mizeur has won the Democratic nomination for U.S. House in Maryland’s 1st Congressional District.

Unofficial results show that Mizeur received 69% of the votes, with opponent R. David Harden taking 31% of the votes.

47 ABC’s Rob Petree was able to sit down with Mizeur who saw an early lead that led her to victory.

“We just had a round of cheers go up at the last tally of results for what is early predictions that are showing us in a very strong, commanding lead in this race,” Mizeur said. “It just reaffirms everything we have felt as we’ve been knocking on doors, making phone calls, being in living rooms, board rooms, classrooms throughout the district. This grassroots campaign has put together such an incredible campaign that believes in a unity coalition that is going to bring people together to solve problems again.”
