Today, Congresswoman Lisa McClain (R-MI) cosponsored the Protecting America from IRGC Terrorists Act. This bill requires visa applicants to disclose their affiliations with the Iranian government or the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). This bill will prevent applicants with connections to Iran, the world’s foremost state sponsor of terror, from ‘slipping through the cracks’ of our visa system.  McClain joined Republican Study Committee Chairman Jim Banks and RSC National Security and Foreign Affairs Task Force Chair Joe Wilson in introducing the bill.

“Iran has shown us time and time again that they are no friend of the United States. I am shocked that disclosing Iranian and IRGC affiliations was not already a requirement for U.S. visa applications,” said Rep. Lisa McClain. “During this time of heightened risk of IRGC terrorism, I am proud to cosponsor this bill to protect the American people.”
