WMU College of Aviation prepares to move into new $24M building at Battle Creek airport

Western Michigan University's College of Aviation is getting ready to move into a new building at its Battle Creek campus. 

The $24-million project is expected to be complete by April and represents the university furthering its investment in the city 

"This is really a commitment that we're here in Battle Creek and we're here to stay," said  Dave Powell, dean of the College of Aviation. "It's a real nice thing for us to be able to do that and give something back to our community." 

U.S. Rep. Peter Meijer, R- Grand Rapids, toured the facility Friday afternoon to learn more about Western's aviation program.
