The Calhoun County Republican Executive Committee has censured U.S. Rep. Peter Meijer, R- Grand Rapids, over his vote to impeach former President Donald Trump after the events of Jan. 6.

Meijer, who represents Michigan's 3rd District, made national headlines as one of 10 House Republicans to vote in favor of impeaching Trump for his role in instigating the attack on the Capitol.

The Calhoun County Republican Party's censure, which was issued last Thursday, came days after Meijer narrowly avoided censure from the 3rd Congressional District Committee.
