Downers Grove—Today, the Daily Herald announced it has endorsed U.S. Congressman Sean Casten (D-IL) in his re-election campaign.
“I’m incredibly proud to have the support of the Daily Herald,” said Rep. Sean Casten. “From local papers like the Daily Herald to teachers to bricklayers to local Mayors to former opponents to members of the Progressive Caucus, New Democrat Coalition, and the Blue Dog Caucus, I’m proud of the diverse coalition of support I’ve earned for re-election.”
In their endorsement, the Daily Herald cited Casten’s “convictions on issues like immigration, gun control, government spending and – his particular field of expertise as the former owner of an environmental company – climate change, but presses his case with calm persistence that leaves room for reasonable debate and discussion.”
The Daily Herald also described a recent Newman TV ad as “notably tasteless” and referenced Newman’s frequent incorrect claims about Rep. Casten’s record.
Heading into the last 3 weeks of the Primary Election, Rep. Casten has overwhelming support as the candidate best suited to represent the 6th District in Congress.
