DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Today, U.S. Congressman Sean Casten (IL-06) announced he has been endorsed by Brady PAC in his re-election campaign.

“As an outspoken advocate for gun reform and proud enemy of the NRA, I am honored to have the support of Brady PAC,” said Rep. Sean Casten. “Together, we will continue the fight for more robust background checks, a ban on assault weapons, and other common-sense gun violence prevention legislation.”

“Sean Casten leads with love. For him, this means fighting to keep each and every child in Illinois and across this nation safe from gun violence. Sean has been a persistent leader for common-sense reforms that will end this uniquely American form of tragedy,” said Jason Pressberg, Executive Director of Brady PAC. “We are proud to endorse Sean Casten for re-election to Congress, and we hope to honor the gun safety advocacy of his late daughter Gwen with tremendous action.”

Since being elected in 2018, Rep. Casten has established himself as one of Congress’ most vocal gun reform advocates. He has passed multiple pieces of legislation to address gun violence and recently introduced the Gun Trafficking Detection Act to enhance law enforcement’s ability to track stolen or lost guns across state lines.

Brady PAC was created prior to the 2018 midterm elections to serve as a counterweight to “dark money” Super PACs created by the gun industry lobby. Brady PAC supports candidates running for local, state, and federal office who support universal background checks, reenacting the assault weapons ban, and instituting other common-sense gun violence prevention legislation that will make our homes, schools, and communities safer.

In the 2020 cycle, Brady PAC invested approximately $4M in contributions to over 200 state, local, and federal candidates, as well as Independent Expenditures, achieving victory in nearly 80% of those races.
