Chattanooga, TN – U.S. Representative Chuck Fleischmann (TN-03), the top Republican on the Homeland Security Subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee, released the following statement on President Joe Biden's Administration's failure to secure the southern border.
"President Biden and his Administration over the last 12-months have purposely enacted open border policies that have left our nation without a secure southern border. The results of the president's policies have been devastating on border communities in the southwest and on all communities nationwide," said Congressman Fleischmann.
"This Administration, with the acquiescence of Congressional Democrats, has let in countless illegal aliens into our nation, hindered Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) work to stop the flow of dangerous narcotics like fentanyl from poisoning Americans, spread lies about CBP officers on horseback, stopped construction on the Border Wall, and refused to engage with our Latin American partners to stem the flow of illegal migrants into our nation."
"The American People want and deserve a secure southern border. President Biden's purposeful pursuit of an open border devastates our nation and will continue to harm innocent Americans until he either leaves office or changes course. As the top Republican on the Homeland Security Subcommittee of Appropriations, I will continue to fight for border security and hold this Administration accountable for its failures at the border."
