Chattanooga, TN – U.S. Representative Chuck Fleischmann (TN-03) released the following statement in response to the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) release from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), showing that inflation has increased by 7.9 percent since February 2021.
"Tennesseans across our state are having their paychecks eaten up faster and faster by inflation. Whether it is groceries, clothing, gas for their cars, or a meal at a local restaurant, people are seeing prices skyrocket everywhere," said Congressman Fleischmann. "The inflation we are all feeling every day is being driven primarily by our supply chain crisis, DC Democrats' insistence on big government programs like the failed ‘Build Back Better' bill, the Administration's anti-American energy policies, and President Biden's failure to promote our free-market capitalist system."
"It's the American entrepreneur who will deliver us from these economic doldrums, not the government. President Biden must stop listening to his Far Left advisors, who do not favor the capitalist system that made our country great, and work with entrepreneurs to get our economy back on track."
