House Armed Services Committee Approves All Slotkin Amendments to ’22 Pentagon Budget

The House Armed Services Committee on Sept. 1, 2021, approved all of the 22 amendments U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin, D-Holly, submitted to the 2022 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the bill which will fund the Department of Defense (DoD), including the U.S. military, for the coming fiscal year. Slotkin joined 14 Democrats and 28 Republicans to increase the Pentagon's top line budget by $23.9 billion, higher than President Joe Biden's proposal, to ensure the U.S. maintains its strategic edge over rivals like China. 21 of Sloktin's 22 amendments were passed with bipartisan support.
