Congressman Cohen Thanks Justice Breyer for His Service to the Country

Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), Chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties, noted Justice Stephen Breyer’s announcement that he will retire at noon today, as the Supreme Court completes its term, and made the following statement:

“Justice Breyer has been a champion for civil rights and the rule of law for his entire distinguished career, and the nation owes him a debt of gratitude. His thoughtful decision to retire and let President Biden nominate his successor, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, will help advance the cause of justice. I wish him all the best in his retirement.”
