Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), who introduced the Multiple Substance Impaired Driving Prevention Act and succeeded in getting it signed into law as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, today received the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility (Responsibility.org) 2021 Leadership Award. This award is presented to a select few Members of Congress for their leadership in the fight against impaired driving and underage drinking.
The award was presented by Chris Swonger, Responsibility.org’s President and CEO.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:
“I’m proud of my work to prevent underage drinking and impaired driving and am pleased my Multiple Substance Impaired Driving Prevention Act is now the law of the land. It will help address a serious problem that leads to thousands of serious and often fatal vehicle accidents each year. I appreciate Responsibility.org’s recognition of my record on these issues and look forward to continuing to work to eliminate impaired driving once and for all.”
