Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes, candidate for U.S. Senate, announced today he raised nearly $220,000 in the last 24 hours as many of his primary opponents have suspended their campaigns and endorsed him.

Yesterday, Alex Lasry — who had been Mandela’s closest primary opponent — endorsed Mandela during a press conference in Milwaukee. That came on the heels of Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson’s decision to drop out of the race to endorse Mandela.

In the second quarter of 2022, Mandela raised $2.1 million, which was more than all of his primary opponents combined.

“We’re seeing unprecedented momentum and excitement behind this campaign because voters across the state know Mandela is the strongest candidate to take on Ron Johnson in November,” said Maddy McDaniel, communications director for Mandela Barnes for Wisconsin. “Mandela is building a coalition in Wisconsin that is multigenerational, multicultural, and defies party lines. That’s why Mandela is already beating Ron Johnson in a head to head matchup and is leading Ron Johnson with key Independent voters.”
