U.S. Congressional candidate Yesli Vega has issued the following press release:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

August 2, 2022

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY – Today, Yesli Vega, Republican Nominee for Virginia’s 7th Congressional District called out her liberal opponent, Abigail Spanberger, for refusing to answer whether she will support a liberal plan that will raise taxes on low- and middle-class Americans as our country falls into recession.

“While American pocketbooks are being drained due to Biden’s inflation crisis, the radical left’s big plan in Washington is to raise taxes on hardworking low- and middle-class Virginians. And to make matters worse, my opponent, Abigail Spanberger is hiding from Virginians and the press and refusing to tell us whether she will support her party’s plan to raise taxes on Americans as our country falls into a recession. Virginians in the 7th deserve a leader who is transparent, not a liberal politician like Abigail Spanberger who supports raising taxes as the cost of living continues to crush Americans.”  - Yesli Vega, Republican Nominee for Virginia’s 7th Congressional District

When asked, Abigail Spanberger refused to answer if she would support the liberal plan to raise taxes on low- and middle-class Virginians during a recession.

Background:

Last week, liberals in Washington announced that their grand plan to lower inflation is to raise taxes on hardworking Americans, specifically low- and middle-class Americans.

The nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) estimated “taxes will increase by $16.7 billion on American taxpayers earning less than $200,000—a nearly $17 billion tax targeted solidly at low- and middle-income earners next year, amidst stagflation.” (SOURCE)
