Neal Floor Remarks on the CHIPS and Science Act

Massachusetts

M. Speaker, I rise today in support of the CHIPS and Science Act. We are here to put the people over politics - by lowering costs, creating jobs, and supercharging our domestic manufacturing.

Our domestic manufacturing has lagged, but with this bill, we will reinvigorate our chip production nationwide. Through sensible tax credits, we will incentivize further research and development. And we will bring 100,000 jobs to our districts. These are 100,000 good-paying jobs!

But my colleagues on the other side of the aisle are vehemently opposed. Why? Because they didn’t get their way? It’s absurd! Let’s put aside the partisan theatrics and come together to get something done for the American people today. This is a strong bill.  It will make a difference.

Let’s seize this moment to empower American innovators, to shore up our domestic manufacturing, and to propel the United States into a prosperous, secure future for generations to come. I urge my colleagues to support the CHIPS and Science Act and I yield back.
