Rep. Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released the following statement on today's Consumer Price Index.
"Inflation is at a devastating new 40-year high – crushing our economy and causing long-term damage to families and small businesses," said Rep. Estes. "While year-over-year inflation at 9.1% is bad, it's really even worse since Biden took office. Under total Democrat control in Washington, rising prices are actually up 12.6% and still accelerating. The Biden agenda has been a disaster for Kansas families and is not what we need for a strong America."
Today the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released its June Consumer Price Index reporting consumer prices are 9.1% higher than the previous year, and showing real wages have dropped nearly 4.8% since President Biden took office.
