Wiley Nickel, Democratic Congressional candidate for NC-13 outraised MAGA Republican Bo Hines in the second quarter, with fundraising powered by significant grassroots support.
Fundraising numbers show Wiley Nickel For Congress received a total of $353,981 in contributions in the second quarter, with over 88% of contributions coming from donors who gave $100 or less. Nickel’s campaign reports a huge, 5-to-1 cash-on-hand advantage, with $510,440 in the bank compared to just $103,349 for Trump-endorsed extremist Bo Hines.
“It’s an honor to receive support from so many hard-working folks who believe in our campaign, and know that we can take on Bo Hines to flip this seat blue in November,” said Wiley Nickel. “North Carolinians are looking for leadership that will get results in Washington, and I’m honored by the immense grassroots support we’ve received from those who believe in our campaign.”
“Bo Hines moved from the other side of the state to District 13 because he thought he and his out-of-state allies could buy this seat–that’s it, that’s all,” said campaign communications director Kellye Beathea. “The numbers in the Q2 report show that his calculated efforts to fool North Carolinians into supporting him aren’t working. And they’re not going to.”
In Q1, Bo Hines didn’t report a single campaign contribution from anyone living in the 13th District.
