WASHINGTON—U.S. Representative John Rose (TN-6) announced that he will continue to serve on the prestigious House Financial Services Committee for the 117th Congress. Within the committee, he will serve on the Consumer Protection and Financial Institutions Subcommittee, Housing, Community Development, and Insurance Subcommittee, and the Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee.
"I am honored to have been reappointed to serve on the Financial Services Committee and continue advocating for the people of the Sixth District," Representative Rose said. "During the next two years, I will utilize this position to create pro-growth policies, ensure fairness, and protect the economic well-being of hardworking Tennesseans and Main Street businesses. With a new administration, one of my main priorities will be providing the necessary Congressional oversight to ensure financial regulators do not overstep and use their authority to implement burdensome regulation on our community banks and small businesses."
As a business owner and former Board of Directors Member at a national bank, Representative Rose will use his personal experience to address Tennesseans' concerns and promote policies that empower American workers, consumers, and investors through the financial services industry.

In the 116th Congress, Representative Rose was successful in getting his legislation, the Fight Illicit Finance through Technical Assistance Act of 2019, included in the FY21 National Defense Authorization Act. The language included allows the U.S. to better fight against money laundering and terrorist financing. He was also effective in getting regulatory relief for community banks that were facing increased regulation due to offering Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans. Finally, Representative Rose worked with all on the Committee to reach a bipartisan agreement on Terrorism Risk Insurance (TRIA) as well as the reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank.
The Committee on House Financial Services oversees a broad portfolio of the nation's housing and financial services sectors that includes banking, insurance, real estate, public and assisted housing, and securities.
U.S. Representative John Rose is currently serving his second term representing Tennessee's Sixth Congressional District and resides in Cookeville with his wife, Chelsea, and their son, Guy. The Sixth District includes Cannon, Clay, Coffee, Cumberland, DeKalb, Fentress, Jackson, Macon, Overton, Pickett, Putnam, Robertson, Smith, Sumner, Trousdale, White, and Wilson counties as well as portions of Cheatham and Van Buren counties. Representative Rose is an eighth-generation farmer, small business owner, and currently serves on the Financial Services Committee.
