This week, the House of Representatives passed the “Frederick Douglass Trafficking Victims Prevention and Protection Reauthorization Act of 2022”, by a tally of 401 to 20. The anti-human trafficking bill builds on the existing system, focusing resources on local agencies operating in high-intensity sex-trafficking areas, while reauthorizing the Department of Homeland Security’s Angel Watch Center, which is meant to prevent international sex tourism travel perpetrated by child sex offenders. The bill would invest new funds for housing options that would help women get away from abusers.
Twenty Republicans voted against the bill, including Lauren Boebert, Mo Brooks, Matt Gaetz (currently under Federal investigation for alleged sex trafficking), and Marjorie Taylor Greene. And, yes, you guessed right, our own Andy Harris joined this rogues list in voting against the bill, following up on his prior vote against the “Violence Against Women Act.”
Andy Harris is an embarrassment, and he does not deserve to be re-elected.
