Congressman Raja Secures Funding for Schaumburg Police Mobile Response Unit

This week, Schaumburg announced its first mobile response unit that will be geared towards implementing an alternative response to mental health and substance abuse issues. Congressman Raja secured the federal dollars that will be used for funding the vehicle and the necessary additional staffing. He said: “This mobile response unit will tackle the complex issues of mental health and substance abuse by using multidisciplinary approaches that are proven to provide effective de-escalation through welfare checks, emergency counseling, and transportation to treatment centers. Protecting our community demands we provide our first responders with the resources they need, and this program will do precisely that.”
