Georgia

Earlier today, Georgia Governor Nathan Deal issued a state of emergency for six counties that are in Hurricane Irma’s path. In response, conservative businessman and Secretary of State Brian Kemp issued the following statement:

“As Hurricane Irma moves closer to the Peach State, we pause to pray for our friends and neighbors in Coastal Georgia who are preparing for the storm’s potential landfall. We lift up local officials, emergency responders, and non-profit leaders as they work to ensure the safety of those they serve. We pray for victims in Puerto Rico and surrounding areas as they recover from Irma’s deadly impact.

“Now, more than ever, we must ready ourselves to lend a hand to those who need it the most. This is where we showcase our character and put our Georgia values into action.”
