Earlier this week, Georgia Governor Nathan Deal proposed an expansion of the HOPE Career Grant program to include aviation, construction, logistics, automotive technology, and electrical line work. In response, conservative businessman and Secretary of State Brian Kemp issued the following statement:

“As conservative policies and business-friendly government continue to bring jobs to Georgia, we need a trained workforce to meet the demands of the private sector,” said Kemp. “I support Governor Deal’s efforts to expand the HOPE Career Grant program, which has a proven track record of preparing our students for jobs of tomorrow.

“As governor, I will continue to support this program while adding additional fields to meet workforce needs in agri-business, forestry, and ag-tech. Through the HOPE Career Grant program, we can strengthen our entire state – including rural Georgia – and ensure a brighter, more prosperous future for hardworking Georgians everywhere.”
