Cheshire, CT– Bob Stefanowski, candidate for Governor of Connecticut, today stood next to the Cheshire Correctional Institute to call on Governor Lamont to take action to start addressing the deplorable conditions in our correctional facilities.

“Correction officers and inmates are living in 100-degree heat with no air conditioning, no hot water, and severe understaffing.  And Governor Lamont states today that ‘he has done all he can’ for correction officers? It shows how completely out of touch Governor Lamont is with the struggles of people across our state, including high inflation, high grocery prices, and a crime wave we have not witnessed in decades,” said Stefanowski. “I know it’s an election year, and he is afraid to show weakness, but the Governor should do less campaigning and do more to actually help people for the remainder of his term in office.”
