Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) announced today that the University of Michigan will receive $20,217,429 in grant funding from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to conduct critical health care research, including research on blood and skin diseases, mental health, and STD/HIV prevention.
“The University of Michigan is conducting groundbreaking health care research that will improve patient care and outcomes,” said Rep. Dingell. “This significant grant funding from HHS will give the University of Michigan the tools it needs to discover the cure of tomorrow.”

HHS is the largest grant-making agency in the US. Most HHS grants are provided directly to states, territories, tribes, and educational and community organizations, then distributed to eligible individuals and organizations.
