Hyundai Motor Group announced today that Bryan County will host its newest electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing plant, which will create 8,100 jobs. This $5.54 billion investment is one of the largest in the state’s history, comprising over 2,000 acres of land.

Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter attended the announcement ceremony, calling it a huge step forward for American manufacturing:

“I am thrilled that Hyundai chose Georgia as the home for its latest factory. Not only will this investment bring thousands of jobs to the First District, but it will also boost America’s manufacturing economy, spurring innovation and global economic competitiveness within the region,” said Carter. “With this investment, Georgia will be a leader in the electric vehicle industry. The future of transportation is right here in Bryan County.”

The EV manufacturing facility will officially break ground in 2023, with production starting in 2025.
